Greenpoint New York April , 27th 2006
Today at the Princess Manor Banquet Hall in the heart of the Polish section of Brooklyn took place the first Spring Ball gala organized by Friends of Fundacja Mam Marzenie Inc. Among 120 guests who joined us this evening to celebrate a power of wish granting ( all proceeds from the ball were donated by Friends of FMM for that purpose) there were Ewa Blaszczyk - a popular Polish actress and singer and - via recorded message- an Ambassador of Fundacja Mam Marzenie in Poland Mrs Katarzyna Figura.
After an cocktail hour and delicious dinner the guests had a chance to show off their dancing skills to the tunes of The Renesanse Band (thank you for your pro bono performance at the event). The highlight of the evening was a life auction of various items donated by local business for this purpose. The highest price item was a framed lithograph by Rafal Olbinski which after a dramatic bidding war went to the happy winner for 1025 dollars!
Also during the ball guests had a chance to admire a performance of young dancers from Joseph Dance Studio . Their sensual interpretations of cha -cha, waltz, foxtrot, tango was met with a broad enthusiasm ( and envy for the skills) from all spectators.
The ball was a great success thanks to all sponsors ( PSCU, Polish Pages, Nowy Dziennik, Kurier Plus), all dedicated volunteers and supporters of our cause!. Thanks to them over 5000 dollars was raised and will help to grant wishes of sick children in Poland
